The Vancouver School Board has produced an English and Chinese document entitled, "Questions and Answers for Parents and Families of LGBT Youth." This might be a useful tool for organizations working in this field that operate in either English or Chinese. Enjoy!

Association of Universities and Colleges in Canada awards two QPI members with funding to facilitate two projects in collaboration with local partners in Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan to develop a more cohesive strategy on LGBT community health and education.

QPI presented a seminar on using and interpreting Research, Culture and Training to strengthen LGBT organizations in developing countries at the Global LGBT Rights Conference in Montreal. The Journal of Gay and Lesbian Issues in Education asks QPI to write the book review of the upcoming two volume series, "Youth, Education and Sexualities: An International Encyclopedia" (J.T. Sears, Ed.).

QPI confirms its authors for its new book, "Reaching Out: Addressing and Including Sexual Minorities in International Development." Authors come from various spaces in the world and currently are working on development projects exploring lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans issues in health, education and social development.

QPI is moving to Ottawa! The main office to QPI is re-locating to Ottawa to help build on established organizational linkages and to further access resources and support. The move will take place in October, 2005.

Robert attended the United Nations Non-Governmental Organization Consultation prior to the UN General Assembly. Alongside 3000 NGO's, Robert was able to introduce queer issues in international development, as well as had a brief meeting with Allan Rock, the Canadian Ambassador to the UN. The networking opportunities through this conference was very productive to QPI's mission. The conference website is www.ngocongo.org

Robert presented on QPI at the University of Toronto/OISE Queer Communities Conference. He also met with new volunteers to help build QPI's presence in Toronto .

A two-day mission to Ottawa , Canada provided Robert with greater insights into the political dynamics of international development. Thanks to QPI member Gary Sealey, Robert was able to generate some involvement and interest into QPI's formation.

The International Gay and Lesbian Youth Organization invites QPI to present on School Violence and Bullying at their first conference at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg , France . We are looking forward to meeting with existing members and providing some concrete strategies for change in challenging contexts.
